Riv was ordained as an ecofeminist Jewish ritual leader with Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute in 2018.
They facilitate Shabbat and life cycle rituals for children and adults,
co-lead High Holiday services as a musician and chazzan,
have years of experience teaching Jewish Studies,
served as a rite of passage mentor in Wilderness Torah’s B’naiture program,
and offer independent holistic B’nai Mitzvah initiation.
As a ritual officiant, Riv loves helping folks draw upon supportive structures and traditions from Jewish lineages and personalize them into a ritual that will feel relevant and accessible. Riv is particularly poised to support and lead Jewish rituals that are earth-based, embodied, and/or center queer/trans experience.
Riv completed Level 1 of movement-based expressive art therapy training with the Tamalpa Institute and offers workshops
inspired by the Life/Art Process.
Workshops utilize accessible movement practices, visual art, writing and partner work to unleash creativity and support participants in discovering new internal resources.
