"Dreams of Melting Ice" is a photographic, performance, and immersive installation project featuring cyanotypes of melting snow and ice created while I rest or nap. Living on Dakota and Anishinaabe land in Minneapolis under a hostile federal occupation, I engaged this practice as an aspect of lifelong commitment to community organizing that outlasts current crisis. The project centers the role of rest and imagination in building networks of care and global solidarities, aided by water as a means of communication across time, space and species.
